Flo & Vanessa

Since the beginning of 2023, Florian and Vanessa have been traveling and teaching together throughout the world. Together they share their enthusiasm for dance and movement. Their diverse dance backgrounds allow them to bring out different aspects of WCS, both on the dance floor and in the classroom. When teaching, they like to impart conceptual content and various "schools of thoughts" that help dance students long-term with their dance progress. Their focus lies on anatomy and continuous movement.

Vanessa Bachmann

As a hip-hop dancer, Vanessa competed from a very young age. Fully committed to her dance crew, Vanessa traveled for Hip Hop Contests all over her home country Germany.
She then hopped into partner dancing with Brazilian Zouk and Forró, but her heart finally settled for West Coast Swing.
She started swing dancing in 2017, learning not only West Coast Swing, but also Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag and Balboa. Vanessa actively travels the world to study and teach West Coast Swing, including the United States and Asia.
Her great passion besides teaching groups, is working as a coach on individual goals and implementation. Through her experiences in both dancing and business, she has an excellent sense and expertise to analyze on a detailed level. Vanessa loves to share her knowledge with her students and mentees all over the (dance) world.

Florian Hamm

Music has always been a major part of Florian's life. Before he found his passion for dance, he played the violin and the piano. During his studies he started to take dance classes in salsa, bachata, ballroom and west coast swing. He dedicated a lot of time learning, and started to travel to international dance events. Soon after getting his first experiences as an assistant at the local dance school, he took over the local bachata and WCS classes in Graz, Austria. After years of splitting his time between both dances, Florian fully committed to west coast swing.

Florian enthusiastically attends many international events, where he's currently competing in the Advanced division. He regularly takes private lessons to deepen his knowledge of west coast swing and attends regular ballet and yoga classes to improve his movement and body awareness apart from WCS. Florians teaching style can be described as analytical and structured, he is always trying to find and give the red thread between the current and the past WCS trends to students.

Prerequisites:
To attend the workshops you should be familiar dancing Left Side Pass, Under arm Turn, Sugar Push, Whip (this corresponds to the Essentials Syllabus of West Coast Swing Utrecht)

Free Parking:
Put your navigation to the intersection "Kleine Koppel, Brabantsestraat" and find a free parking spot:
- Kleine Koppel (very limited space)
- Brabantsestraat
- Limburgsestraat (partly 2-hour parking limits)
- The area across the bridge, away from the center (for example Kwekersweg, Koppelweg, Grote Koppel, De Vendelier). Only 5 minutes by foot.
Paid parking:
Parkinglot Oliemolenkwartier (free parking after 22.00)
Be aware that it is not allowed to park on the Oude Fabrieksstraat!! Parking is strictly enforced!
